Winning start for Women's National Team
Malta got off to a great start in the first match of Group 2 of the UEFA Women's Euro Preliminary Round mini-tournament at the Victor Tedesco Stadium
The Maltese girls found themselves a goal behind after Andorra took the lead on the third minute. Malta equalised through Rachel Cuschieri two minutes later. Cuschieri put her team in front on 21 minutes, with Dorianne Theuma scoring another to make it 3-1. Shortly before the break, Ylenia Carabott increased the score to 4-1.
Dorianne Theuma scored her second shortly after the start of the second half with Bibiana Goncalves Correira reducing the gap for Andorra. Three minutes from the final whistle, Andorra scored their third goal through Muelas Marina Fernandes for a final score of 5-3.
In the other match from Group 2, Georgia defeated the Faroe Islands 2-0
