Birkirkara heap more misery on Tarxien
Birkirkara did not need to show any extra effort in order to see off a poor Tarxien side who now seem destined to fight relegation for the remainder of the season.
The stripes dominated the game from start to finish holding the initiative from kick off in a clearly one-sided encounter. It was Tarxien however who could have stormed ahead inside the first twenty minutes.
In fact on 17 minutes, Jorge Pereira stormed into the Stripes’ area with pace producing a curled effort which was saved by Justin Haber.
Birkirkara went in front on 26 minutes when off a free kick taken by Ryan Scicluna, Nikola Vukanac headed the ball into the net.
From then on it was only Paul Zammit’s men on the field controlling the proceedings and passing the ball with relative ease.
Unsurprisingly, they scored their second seven minutes from half time when Zach Muscat sent a surging cross in the direction of Shola Shodiya, who had no trouble heading the ball past Cini.
On 54 minutes, Camenzuli could have made it three who however failed to connect an excellent cross from Herrera.
Tarxien were denied a consolation goal on 72 minutes when Pereira unleashed Darlington who beat Haber with the goal being ruled out for offside by the referee.
