Euro 2012 - Georgia vs Malta – Second Training Session at the Locomotive

Day two at the Locomotive Stadium was characterised by heavy downpour which made the pitch conditions worse than it was already. The continuous rain did not stop for the whole day and the heavy showers are forecasted to continue till Saturday.

The Georgian Coach Temuri Ketsbaia met the press yesterday evening and insisted that the Georgian players should take this match seriously especially after last year's 2-0 loss away to Malta. He assured everyone that at the present he can rely on fifteen regular players and he is banking on them to show their best. Ketsbaia is anticipating that he will not tinker with his squad list and that probably there will not be any major changes in the initial line up.

The coach also answered questions regarding the young talented Jano Ananidze of Spartak Moscow who is currently not being utilised at the Russian club and said "I know that Jano is not playing at the moment but that means that he will be fresh for the national team. He is a great player for the future of Georgia and one of the best players in the Russian league". Asked about the team's failure to score goals he reiterated that the team is not conceding as they used to be and stressed again that his players should be wary of the opponent without highlighting anyone in particular.
