Hibernians defeat Qormi in FA Trophy semi-finals
Hibernians defeted Qormi 2-0 and are on course to securing a double if they defeat Birkirkara in the final of the FA Trophy on May 23.
Hibernians were as predicted, the stronger side during the match.
Hibernians immediately started to create scoring opportunities.
Just after five minutes of play, Andrew Cohen had his freekick saved by goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia. On the ninth minute, Jorge da Silva Pereira had his powerful shot saved as well by Farrugia.
Hibernians managed to take the lead on the 11th minute. Off a freekick by Andrew Cohen, Andrei Agius beat goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia with his goal from close range.
Hibernians doubled their lead on the 65th minute. Off a pass by Rodolfo Soares, Jorge da Silva Pereira had his shot from the edge of the area beat Qormi’s goalkeeper.
On the 78th minute, Qormi’s Marcelinho was unlucky as his freekick hit the crossbar.
