Milan confirm Inzaghi sacking
AC Milan have sacked manager Filippo Inzaghi, the club has confirmed
Sinisa Mihajlovic is set to become Milan's new coach on a two-year contract worth around €2.5 million per season.
Inzaghi is sorting out a compensation package on a contract that has another year to run.
“AC Milan communicates that it has fired the first team coach, Filippo Inzaghi, who the club thanks for all his work," said a statement from Milan.
"Don't worry, within the next 15 days I will be Milan's new coach," Mihajlovic was quoted as telling L'Equipe on Monday.
Mihajlovic will be charged with restoring the seven-times European champions Milan to full health after a season in which they finished 10th in Serie A and failed to qualify for Europe.
Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol is set to take on a controlling interest of the club from Silvio Berlusconi.
