Georgios Samaras close to Sampdoria signing

Former Celtic and Manchester City striker Georgios Samaras is currently undergoing his medical at Sampdoria.

The Greek international is a free agent after leaving West Bromwich Albion at the end of last season, having spent the latter half of the campaign at Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s website is carrying a picture of Samaras arriving at Villa Stuart for his Blucerchiati medical, with the forward ready to sign assuming he has no problems.
