MFA top officials meet FIFA President

Malta Football Association president Norman Darmanin Demajo and Chief Executive Officer Bjorn Vassallo met FIFA president Josef Blatter at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland earlier this week.

It was a very cordial meeting between the Maltese top football officials and the FIFA president, who was accompanied by FIFA General Secretary Jerome Valcke and Eva Pasquier, an official responsible for strategy and business development within the world football body.

The Maltese guests were given a warm welcome and were shown around the FIFA headquarters.

Among the items discussed were those concerning FIFA Goal Projects, social programmes under the aegis of the world football body and development of local football. The talks proved to be very fruitful and Malta, a member of FIFA since 1959, is bound to benefit from the financial support and technical advice under the Financial Assistance Programme (FAP) which is part of FIFA’s worldwide strategy aimed at further developing the game in different areas.
