Hamrun and Birkirkara share the points
Hamrun Saprtans and Birkirkara played to a 1-1 draw last night at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
With this result, Hamrun could not jump Valletta in the standings and therefore remain in second place one point behind Valletta. This is the third match for Birkirkara without a win, and are now in fourth place.
Birkirkara got the first goal of the game on the 23rd minute when Michael Galea headed the ball in after he received the ball from Andrew Decesare’s freekick.
It was not long after when Hamrun replied with a goal. On the 26th minute Peter Anizoba passed the ball to Marcelo Pereira who managed to put the ball past Birkirkara goalkeeper Michael Fraser.
In the second half both sides produced numerous chances to take the lead, but decent defending and goalkeeping kept the ball out tof the net on both sides of the pitch.
