Floriana leave it late to defeat Qormi

Floriana now share second place with Hamrun just one point behind Valletta.

Qormi and Floriana had numerous chances during the match but it was Floriana who came away with all three points.

Floriana had the first chance on goal when, off a freekick, Christian Caruana headed wide.

Qormi replied immediately with Kosta Bjedov’s attempt also missing the goal.

As it was about to end in a draw, Floriana got the winner on the 94th minute when Michael Mecerod beat Qormi goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia after receiving a great cross from Christian Cassar.
