Sacked Birkirkara coach on verge of joining Palermo
Serie A team Palermo are in the final stages of talks to sign former Birkirkara and Floriana coach Giovanni Tedesco
Facing a disastrous season, Palermo are making many drastic changes to their technical staff in a bid to recover before the end of the season.
According to reports on gianlucadimarzio.com, Tedesco will sign a six-month contract as first team coach.
The fact that present coach, Guillermo Barros Schelotto, does not have the necessary license requirements to coach a Serie A side from the bench during matches is causing a problem for Palermo.
This forced the management to look for a temporary replacement until the latter obtains the necessary qualifications.
A former footballer, Tedesco played with several Serie A clubs including Fiorentina, Genoa and Palermo.
Tedesco was the coach of Floriana during the 2014/2015 BOV Premier League. Tedesco then took over the reigns at Birkirkara during the 2015/2016 season, but was dismissed after the 4-0 defeat to Valletta.
