Serie A giants investigated over tax evasion, false accounting
Police probe targets include former Juventus chief Jean Claude Blanc, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani, Lazio president Claudio Lotito and current footballers
Dozens of Serie A and B club officials including Milan chief Adriano Galliani, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentis and former Juventus president Jean Claude Blanc have been targeted by an Italian police investigation into alleged tax evasion and false accounting.
Italian media reported that prosecutors in Napoli had opened the investigation into tax evasion and false accounting, amid claims that "assets valued at around 12 million euros" had been seized.
A series of raids were carried out by Italy's 'Guardia di Finanza' early on Tuesday morning.
The reports claimed a total of 64 people were targeted, including AC Milan vice-president Galliani, Napoli president Laurentiis, Lazio president Claudio Lotito as well as players' agent Alessandro Moggi -- the son of disgraced former Juventus official Luciano Moggi.
Modena coach Crespo, a former Argentina international who spent most of his career in Serie A, and Paris Saint Germain player Ezequiel Lavezzi, an Argentina international, have also been implicated say the reports. Other polayers under investigation include Italy defender Gabriel Paletta and former international household names such as Adrian Mutu and Diego Milito.
