Sunderland put three past champions Chelsea

Sunderland defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge today. It was the first time Sunderland defeated Chelsea since 2001 and Chelsea’s first home defeat since March.

The first half was about to end goalless when Nedum Onuoha waltzed past the Chelaea defence to put the ball at the back of the net on the 45thminute mark. Chelsea now had to start the second half a goal under.

Asamoah Gyan did not wait too long in the second half to double the score for Sunderland on the 52ndminute.

Chelsea could not get into this match while Sunderland were looking more dangerous as time went on.

Some sloppy defending made Chelsea pay the price as in the 87thminute Ashley Coles sloppy back pass was seized by Danny Welbeck to make it 3-0.

This result leaves Arsenal only two points behind Chelsea in the Premier League table.

Arsenal moved up to second place today after defeating Everton 2-1.

Arsenal opened up the score with a goal from Bacary Saqna on the 36thminute. Cesc Fabregas made it 2-0 on the 48thminute. Everton managed to pull one back in the 89thminute with a goal from Tim Cahill. But this would not be enough for Everton as Arsenal went on to win the match 2-1.
