Moratti still furious after derby defeat

Rafa Benitez has his job on the line after various reports from Italy suggest Inter president Moratti is starting to look for a replacement.

The loss to Milan in the Derby della Madonnina last Sunday left Moratti furious and it also broke Inter’s unbeaten record that stretched back to March 2008.

Inter lie fifth in the table and six points behind Milan after 12 games.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Moratti is not happy with the training methods of Benitez and the lack of discipline with the squad.

Another clash that Moratti is having with Benitez is that he does not belief Inter needs to reinforce in January, contrary to what Benitez is saying.

The short list of the candidates that have been published are Leonardo, Frank Rijkaard, Carlos Dunga and Luciano Spalletti. One must note that Spalletti has committed himself to Zenit St. Petersburg after winning the Russian Premier League title last weekend.

Milan’s former coach Leonardo might sound like a strange replacement, but it is well known that Moratti has always wanted Leonardo as part of the Inter management. Leonardo is very well spoken; he is fluent in many languages. Even though he was let go from Milan, many agree he did a great job with a team full of injuries last season he has the drive to succeed.
