Final training session in Zagreb

On Tuesday, Malta trained at the Maksimir Stadium at the kick off time, that is 17:30 hrs to acclimatise to the pitch conditions. The weather is still very favourable and this should lead to a bumper crowd for the game since entrance will be for free. The stadium has no cover at all and rain is forecasted for the match day.

Just before the training session the National team coach John Buttigieg was at the press conference with Jamie Pace. "This is the fourth match for us and for Croatia in this qualifying group.

Like all games this is a very hard match for us. Playing in Croatia is always very difficult for us and for any other team but hopefully we will have a good match and we will surely give the Croatians a hard time. We are really looking forward to this game and even though it is a tough encounter we hope it will have a positive outcome for us and hopefully we will get a good result as well" said Buttigieg.

Jamie Pace reiterated "For us players we are looking forward to it and a chance for us to compete at a higher level. Hopefully it will be an entertaining match and we will definitely try to get something out of it".

The Monday training session was conducted in the NK Zagreb training grounds in calm weather conditions with the whole contingent now in Croatia. In fact Justin Haber and Andre Schembri joined the team this morning to finalise the nineteen players aggregated here for the Euro Qualifier against Croatia on Wednesday.

Croatia is celebrating twenty years since its first International match and the Association is inviting its supporters to come to the stadium with its gates open to see their national team free of charge.

The whole contingent, including officials and sponsors, attended this evening's intensive training session.

Malta plays Croatia in the Maksimir Stadium on Wednesday 17th November at 17:30 Hrs and the match is being screened live on the Go Sports Channels.
