Mourinho’s former assistant could be Inter’s next coach

Tonight the Portuguese and Italian press are linking André Villas Boas to Inter. In fact Sky Italia are calling him ‘The Special Two’ as the coaching saga at Inter continues.

Moratti has denied claims today that he is looking for a new coach. But after a meeting between Inter officials, Benitez and his staff later in the day, the press started to speculate as nobody talked to the press, not even Benitez who is usually friendly to the camera’s.

According to fcinternews.it, the outcome of the meeting was Benitez has to start getting results in the league and Champions League.

As well one of the highest priorities is winning the Club World Cup. If Benitez is not successful with the Club World Cup, it might get complicated for him as Moratti will not be very happy. Inter have already lost the UEFA Super Cup to Atlético Madrid at the beginning of the season.

Meanwhile a new name has popped up in this saga and this time it is someone who has already had some experience on the Inter bench.

His name is André Villas Boas and he is currently the youngest football manager in the Portuguese League. He was appointed manager of FC Porto in June 2010 and is becoming one of the best managers in Portugal at the age of 33 and he is already on Inter’s radar.

He won the Portuguese Super Cup with Porto last season. And this season under his watchful eye, Porto has not lost a match.

Working as an assistant to Mourinho from 2003-2009, he gained vast experience assisting Mourinho manage Porto, Chelsea and Inter.

Villa Boas prepared Mourinho for all the matches; he would study videos on each opponent and feed the tactical information to Mourinho.

André Villas Boas always tries to distance himself from Mourinho but he resembles him in many ways. He dresses and reacts like him on the bench. He even insults the referee like Mourinho. In 2008 in the derby between Inter and Milan he was kicked out of the match for insulting the referee.

His press conferences also resemble Mourinho’s in every way. They are short and to the point.
