Early goal enough for Floriana

Floriana move into second place only four points behind Leader Valletta, while Sliema remain third from the bottom of the table.

Floriana did not take long to take the lead and the only goal of the game when, on the fifth minute, Ivan Woods beat goalkeeper Viktor Szentpeteri.

Some fantastic goal keeping from Floriana’s keeper Lofti Saidi kept Sliema at bay as he denied Valdo Alhino’s attempt of goal with his powerful shot.

Minutes after the start of the second half, Floriana almost doubled the score when Ryan Darmanin’s header hit the crossbar.

On the 75th minute, Jean Pierre Triganza came very close for Sliema to equalize, but Floriana’s keeper denied him.
