Rabat Ajax Football Club appoint Edward Azzopardi as coach
Rabat Ajax Football Club announces that Mr Edward Azzopardi has been appointed as the club’s new coach.
Mr Azzopardi, signed the agreement on Wednesday evening in the presence of the clubs President Mr Amadeo Zammit, Vice President Dr Sam Abela, Secretary General Mr Mario Grima and Team Manager Mr Etienne Cachia.
Mr Edward Azzopardi, who is 38 years old and was a product of the club’s nursery, played with Rabat Ajax Football Club for a total of seven seasons including in Malta’s elite division. He also wore the national team’s shirt, making his debut on 28th April 1999 in a friendly game at Ta’ Qali in a 1-2 against Iceland.
During the past season, Mr Azzopardi served as Assistant Coach with BOV First Division Champions Gżira United Football Club. He will be replacing Mr Joey Falzon who managed the team during the past two seasons while the club participated in Malta’s BOV
First Division.
