Qormi defeat Marsaxlokk as B’Kara and Tarxien share the points

This win moves Qormi in seventh place in the standings with 11 points as Marsaxlokk remain in third.

It was not long before Qormi managed to take the lead in the match. On the 11^th  minute. Cleavon Frendo’s shot was on target to give Qormi the important lead.

Both sides had numerous chances to score, but good goalkeeping kept the ball out of the net.

In the other match of the day, Birkirkara and Tarxien Rainbows played to a goalless draw.

A win would of brought one of these teams closer to Valletta in standings as they were held by Floriana on Saturday in a goalless draw.

Tarxien are now sharing second place with Floriana on 14 points while Birkirkara join Hamrun and Marsaxlokk in third place.

In a match that had numerous attempts on both sides of the pitch, Tarxien could of got the winner on the 89^th  minute when Orosco Anonam’s shot was cleared from the goal line by Birkirkara’s Patrick Borg.
