Hinguain nets winner on debut
Gonzalo Hinguain came off the bench to net the winner, as the Italian champions battled a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina.
The €90 million signing started the match on the bench alongside fellow arrival Miralem Pjanic, as the Bianconeri opened their league campaign.
The Bianconeri started on the attack, and created their first opportunity after just four minutes when Khedira guided his effort fractionally over the cross bar.
On the 21st minute, Paulo Dybala fired a shot that went just wide. The Argentine striker attempted another shot few minutes later, but this time his effort went narrowly over the bar.
Juventus went ahead late in the first half when Sami Khedira jumped high to head home Giorgio Chiellini’s cross.
Hinguain was introduced in the 66th minute. However, four minutes later, Juventus conceded the equalising goal after Nikola Kalinic fired a brilliant header behind Buffon.
The Argentine striker made his decisive contribution on the 75th minute. Khedira’s blocked effort saw the ball bounce out to Hinguain, who managed to get on the end of the loose ball to score his first goal in the black and white shirt.
Earlier on today, Roma managed to beat Udinese 4-0.
