Milan continue on Scudetto mission as Roma are held

AC Milan have moved three points clear after a impressive win over Brescia last night in Milan.

This result leaves them a massive ten points over city rivals Inter in the Serie A standings.

At moments during the match, it was as if Milan were playing on their own as Brescia could not keep up with the Milan giants.

Kevin-Price Boateng open the score as early as the fourth minute. Some fine work from Ibrahimovic set Boateng up for the goal.

Robinho made it 2-0 on the 28th minute after some poor defending from Brescia. His shot found the back to practically end the match in the first half hour.

It was a matter of time before Ibrahimovic put his name on the score sheet. Only three minutes after Robinho scored, Ibrahimovic dribbled the ball past a number of Brescia players to fire off a shot on the edge of the penalty area.

Milan kept on pressing and had a some good opportunities to make it 4-0.

Milan’s only concern in the standings is Lazio, who are only three points behind them. Lazio’s impressive run continued after they convincingly defeated Inter 3-1 on Friday in Rome.

Roma had a two goal lead to end up leaving with one point after they played Chievo at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Two great goals from Fabio Simplicio looked to have ended the match for Chievo in the first half.

Chievo pressed on in the second half to have Davide Moscardelli find the back of the net on the 61st  minute and Pablo Granoche on the 83rd  minute.

The pitch conditions were in a horrible state and Roma were lucky to get away with a point. Last month Inter suffered a defeat on the same pitch against Chievo as they also complained about the surface.

Roma coach Claudio Ranieri heavily criticised the state of the pitch.

“Evidently the north end of the pitch was in better condition, as both teams struggled when attacking in that area. It was just impossible to put together any kind of decent move on the south end.

“We had taken the lead and played very well, even though on this surface it was more like playing beach soccer. I have to be thankful that nobody got hurt today, as there was a real risk for all 22 players out there.”
