Inter Milan sack head coach Frank de Boer
Inter have officially announced the sacking of Coach Frank de Boer after 14 games in charge.
The Dutchman replaced Roberto Mancini over the summer, but has lost seven games already this season.
It emerged last night that De Boer’s time was up, with multiple reports he would be sacked in a conference call this morning.
Now the Nerazzurri have confirmed that the former Ajax boss has been relieved of his duties.
“FC Internazionale announce today that they have parted company with Frank de Boer,” a statement announced.
"Inter Primavera Coach Stefano Vecchi will take temporary charge of the first team for Thursday's UEFA Europa League match against Southampton.
"Inter would like to place on record our thanks to Frank and his coaching team for their work with the club over the past few months, and we wish them the best for the future.
"Further announcements regarding the first team Coaching position will be made in due course."
It’s widely expected that former Lazio Coach Stefano Pioli will replace him, with Primavera Coach Stefano Vecchi in interim control.
Vecchi has taken training today, and will be on the bench for Thursday’s trip to Southampton in the Europa League.
