Manchester City climb to the top of the table

Manchester City have moved level with Arsenal at the top of the Barclays Premier League table. A 3-1 victory over West Ham gave City the important points. 

Goals from Yaya Toure (30’), an own goal from Robert Green (73’) and Adam Johnson (81’) sealed the points. West Ham’s  James Tomkins scored a late consolation goal on the 89th  minute.

Aston Villa defeated West Brom 2-1. With this win, Aston Villa continue to climb out of the relegation zone.

Everton had to share the points with Wigan by playing to a 0-0 draw.

Fulham and Sunderland also had to settle for a point as they played to a 0-0 draw.

Blackpool earned all three points against Stoke with a 1-0 victory. Stoke City had a controversial goal disallowed for a foul on goalkeeper Richard Kingson.

In the evening match Newcastle defeated Liverpool 3-1. This was great start for new Newcastle manager Alan Pardew. This victory moves Newcastle United to eighth place in the table, one above Liverpool.
