Ten-man Qormi and Vittoriosa share the spoils

Qormi and Vittoriosa played to a 2-2 draw yesterday afternoon.

Vittoriosa had most of the chances in the first half, but even with one man sent off Qormi improved in the second half to hold Vittoriosa.

It was not long after the start that Vittoriosa took the lead. On the 14th  minute mark, Edison Luis Dos Santos passed to Anthony Ewurum who inside the are controlled the ball to have his shot deflected by a defender and go past goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia.

In the final seconds of the first half, Qormi levelled after a clumsy clearance from the Vittoriosa defence ended up reaching Cleavon Frendo who beat goalkeeper Simon Agius with a lob.

Qormi took the surprise lead in the second half on the 50th  minute when Ben Camilleri concluded after receiving the ball from Joseph Farrugia.

The pressure was now on Qormi as on the 61st  minute they were reduced to ten men as Kang Hojung received a second yellow card for time wasting.

Vittoriosa saved the match on the 75th  minute when Edison Luis Dos Santos headed the ball past goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia after receiving a cross from Leighton Grech.
