The Greens went ahead after just four minutes. Ryan Camenzuli regained possession inside Floriana’s half and hit a low shot that gave Luke Buttigieg no chance.

Floriana doubled the score on the 37th minute. From a free kick, Steve Pisani sent a shot that ended up in the top corner of the net.

Tedesco’s side increased the margin of the score on the 63rd minute. Ferdinando Apap handled the ball inside the penalty area and the referee pointed towards the spot. From the resulting spot kick, Mario Fontanella made no mistake and finished past Buttigieg.

Għajnsielem hit back and reduced the margin of the score on the 76th minute. Enzo Ruiz brought down Jhonjairo Guarin inside the penalty area. The referee awarded a penalty for the Gozitan side and Demba Toure finished inside the net.

However, Floriana added another goal on the 81st minute. Antonio Monticelli found Nicolas Chiesa inside the penalty area and the latter headed home to secure Floriana’s place in the quarter finals.

Apart from Floriana, Sk Victoria Wanderers and Sliema Wanderers are also through to the next round after registering wins over St. Andrews and Qrendi.
