Platini is UEFA president for another four-year term

UEFA President Michel Platini will be re-elected as president again as no candidates emerged before the midnight deadline on Wednesday night.

Plantini was unopposed for this position and he will therefore he will continue as chief of the European football’s governing body till 2015.

Since being president, Platini has been made some drastic changes to European football. The European championships will have 24 teams instead of 16 as of 2016.

The Champions League was also improved as there are now champions from more champions from smaller nations in the group stage.

The change that some teams are dreading is the UEFA financial fair play rule that starts in 2012. European football clubs will be limited to spend what they earn.
