Leonardo to become Inter coach after Christmas

According to Mediaset, former Milan coach Leonardo is a done deal.

All that is left to be done is announcing the new partnership between Leonardo and Inter.

Reports suggest that the deal is longer than expected. Leonardo was first going to sign until June. A evaluation on his six month reign would be made to see if he continues. But it is now being reported by Mediaset that he is going to sign till 2012 with a option for 2013.

This shows that Moratti is not going to wait around for a sensational return of Mourinho or a possible deal with Barcelona coach Guardiola. Moratti’s support will be totally behind Leonardo.

This report could end any suggestion that former Inter goalkeeper Walter Zenga might take Leonardo place as coach as it was reported by goal.com that he was sacked as Al-Nassar coach.

Inter are also trying sign Andrea Ranocchia from Genoa. He would be a replacement for the injured Samuel.

Real Madrid star Kaka is also on the cards but Inter will probably try to work out this deal in the summer. It is possible they let go of Maicon as a part of the deal as he is still admired by Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho.
