Manchester United held by Birmingham

Manchester United dropped two important points against Birmingham City yesterday evening at St. Andrew’s.

The match finished 1-1 with Birmingham’s Lee Bowyer leaving late to score the equaliser on the 89th  minute.

Manchester City continue to climb up the Premier League table by defeating Aston Villa 4-0. Manchester United finish 2010 ahead of Mancini’s City thanks to goal difference. Bad boy Balotelli scored his first Premier League hat-trick to give City’s title aspirations a boost.

Tottenham Hotspur’s good form continued as they defeated Newcastle United 2-0 at white Hart Lane. Spurs are now in fourth place, two points ahead of Chelsea having played an extra game.

Fulham recorded their first home win since last season by defeating Stoke City 2-0. This victory enables Fulham to move out of the relegation zone.

Sunderland were defeated by Blackpool 2-0 at the Stadium of Light.

Steve Kean’s Blackburn Rovers defeated West Bromwich Albion 3-1. This is Kean’s first victory as Rovers coach.

West Ham remain in the relegation zone after they allowed a one-goal lead to slip as they shared the points with Everton in a 1-1 draw.

Finally in Monday night’s match Arsenal put more pressure on Chelsea coach Ancelloti as they defeated Chelsea 3-1.

Arsenal have lost their previous five matches against Chelsea. This also leaves Chelsea without a victory in their last six matches in the Premier League.
