Milan leave it late to defeat Cagliari

In a match full of action on both sides of the pitch, Milan managed to take all three points home thanks to Cassano setting up Rodney Strasser five minutes before the end of the match.

Milan and Cagliari had numerous chances to go ahead. At times, Milan looked to be having problems near the end of the first half.

 Cassano made the difference when he substituted Alexander Merkel on the 74th  minute. Cassano could not have had a better debut with Milan as he calmly set up the winning goal.

With this victory, Milan stay on top of the Serie A standings with a six point gap on Napoli, who play Inter later in the evening.

In other matches:

Roma defeated Catania in a six goal thriller. Roma defeated Catania 4-2.

Bologna and Fiorentina shared the points with a 1-1 draw. Fiorentina left it late to deny Bologna from winning all three points.

Brescia were defeated at home by Cesena 2-1.

Genoa and Lazio played to a 0-0 draw.

Bari defeated Lecce 1-0.

Sampdoria could not get anything right as they were defeated by Palermo 3-0.

Udinese take all three points after defeating Chievo 2-0.
