Video | Incredible Roberto Carlos goal from a corner
Brazilian Roberto Carlos has proved that he can still do incredible things with a football, after scoring direct from a corner.
The 37-year-old, now playing for Corinthians of Sao Paulo, scored straight from the set piece in the 20th minute of a match against Portuguesa, in the first tie of the new Paulista Championship.
Roberto Carlos has always been famed for his deadly set pieces
After winning the corner with a typical charging run down the left wing, Carlos spotted Portuguesa goalkeeper Weverton standing out of position while organising his defence.
The quick-thinking former Real Madrid and Inter Milan full-back promptly curled the ball with the outside of his left foot into the unguarded net.
Carlos revealed after the game that the Olympic goal, so named in South America after Cesareo Onzari scored direct from a corner kick against Olympic champions Uruguay in 1924, is a skill he has been working on throughout his illustrious career.
