Floriana went ahead two minutes into the second half. Dylan Grima served Maurizio Vella and the latter finished behind Justin Haber.

The Maroons suffered a setback on the 84th minute as they had Samba Tounkara sent off.

Despite this red card, Gżira managed to equalise four minutes into the additional time. Alex Cini handled the ball inside the penalty area and the referee ordered a penalty. From the eleven metres mark, Samb made no mistake.
