The Rainbows went ahead on the 33rd minute. Following a cross by James Brincat, Christoph Nicht failed to neutralise, and rebound fell for Ricardo Silva Faria who placed the ball inside the net.

Tarxien made the score 2-0 on the 65th minute. Silva Faria received the ball from Artur Benes and hit a shot that went past Nicht.

Naxxar pulled one back seven minutes later. Andre Scicluna fouled Darren Falzon inside the penalty area and the referee signalled for a penalty. From the eleven metres mark, Scott James Fenwick converted.
