St Andrews made a flying start to the match as they went ahead after seven minutes. Kyle Butler won the ball and served Jacob Walker whose shot ended up inside the net.

Naxxar equalised on the 41st minute. Following a corner, a St Andrews defender handled the ball and the referee ordered a penalty. From the eleven metres mark, Scott Fenwick made no mistake.

The Lions went ahead for the first time in the match on the 53rd minute. Yuri Messias went on a good run and hit a shot from outside the penalty area that gave Matthew Calleja Cremona no chance.

Duane Bonnici sealed the issue for Naxxar on the 90th minute. The Naxxar player went inside the penalty area and placed the ball past Calleja Cremona.
