Hibs went close on the 22nd minute. Clayton Failla sent a shot from a free-kick that ended up centimetres off target.

The Paolites kept insisting and had another chance on the half hour mark. Johann Bezzina fired a shot that was neutralised by Glenn Zammit.

However, Sliema hit back and went ahead on the 45th minute. De Assis went past a defender and hit a stunning shot that gave Andrew Hogg no chance.

The same player nearly scored again on the 47th minute. The Brazilian went past Andrei Agius and sent a shot that forced a good save from Hogg.

Hibernians attempted to equalise and had a good opportunity on the 67th minute. Following a corner, Rodolfso Soares saw his shot going across the frame of goal.

In the remaining minutes, Sliema managed to hold on to take their second win in a row.
