Birkirkara add more misery to Hamrun

This is Hamrun’s third consecutive defeat after losing to Floriana and Hibernians in previous mathces.
Hamrun had numerous attempts thanks to Dylan Kokavessis and Gaetan Spiteri, but Birkirkara’s goalkeeper Michael Fraser was in great form to keep the ball out of goal.
Late in the first half Bikirkara’s Terrence Vella headed the ball just over the bar.
The first half ended goalless.
Birkirkara went ahead on the 47thminute. Shaun Bajada served Emiliano Lattes who then beat Hamrun goalkeeper Omar Borg from close range.
Birkirkara could have doubled their score on the 69th minute after Massimo Grima handled the ball in the area. Emiliano Lattes’ shot from the penalty spot was saved by Omar Borg to keep Hamrun in the match.
Birkirkara put the match out of reach for Hamrun four minutes in added time when Michael Galea setup Paul Fenech who shot high to beat the goalkeeper.
Birkirkara take all three points and move within one point of second-placed Floriana and Tarxien Rainbows who both have a game in hand.
