Sliema and Tarxien share the points

With this result Tarxien missed the opportunity to join Floriana in second place.

Sliema had the first opportunity early in the match when Jackson Lima’s attempt went wide.

Tarxien were very close to score the first goal of the match after Orosco Anonam’s header hit the crossbar.

Sliema were also denied by the woodwork on the 39^th  minute. Obinna Obiefule shot hit the crossbar and was saved by Tarxien goalkeeper David Cassar.

The first half ended goalless with numerous attempts on goal on both sides of the pitch.

Tarxien took the lead on the 69^th  minute when substitute Cristiano Dos Santos Rodrigues headed the ball past goalkeeper Viktor Szentpeteri.

Sliema did not give up and scored the equaliser to deny Tarxien the victory on the 90^th  minute. Off a Noel Turner freekick, Jackson Lima did not miss the target with his powerful header.
