Balzan went close after just two minutes. Bojan Kaljevic hit a shot that went over.

Senglea replied on the 14th minute. Ivan Paz sent a shot from a free-kick that sailed wide.

A minute later, Kaljevic exchanged possession with Carlos Eduardo De Fiori Mendes and the Brazilian player forced a good save from Giulio Cetrangolo.

Cetrangolo was on the alert once more on the 22nd minute. Alex Da Paixao Alves saw his shot being saved by the Senglea goalkeeper.

Three minutes from half time, De Fiore Mendes fired a shot from a free-kick that was tipped behind for a corner by Cetrangolo.

Balzan scored the all-important goal on the 45th minute. Following a cross by De Fiore Mendes, Kaljevic finished inside the net.

Five minutes into the second half, Kaljevic served De Fiori Mendes and the latter finished high.

On the 53rd minute, Alex Da Paixao Alves of Balzan fired a shot that was blocked by the goalkeeper before hitting the post.

Senglea went close to equalise in the additional time. Peter Sammut hit a powerful drive that went marginally off target.
