Milan held by Lazio

Milan had to settle for one point against Lazio yesterday evening when the match ended in a goalless draw.

Milan had much better ball possession throughout the match, but the resilient and sometimes lucky Lazio defence kept the ball out of the net.

Lazio had their chances early in the match with attempts by Hernanes and Cristian Ledsema firing on target.

Milan’s Ibrahimovic had an excellent opportunity to score in the second half after his powerful shot hit both goal posts before ending up in the hands of goalkeeper Fernado Muslera.

In the final stages of the match, it was all Milan with Flamini, Ibrahimovic and Robinho pushing ahead.

Robinho was very close to scoring on the 64th  minute when his shot towards an open net found Lazio’s Stephan Lichsteiner to clear it off the goal line.

Napoli can close the gap on Milan at the top of the standings to only two points tonight if they defeat Chievo tonight.
