Chivu suspended for four games

Inter’s Cristian Chivu has been suspended for four League games after he punched Bari’s Marco Rossi.

The incident happened 13 minutes into the second half.

The incident was not seen by any of the match officials, but the television camera’s caught the incident perfectly.

The disciplinary panel decided on a four game suspension after reviewing the footage.

It was thought he would get a three-game suspension. But the disciplinary board thought otherwise.

Chivu will miss four very important matches for Inter. Chivu will miss the Roma, Fiorentina, Juventus and Cagliari fixtures.

Inter president Massimo Moratti has spoken about the incident.

“It’s disappointing for us and also for Rossi,” the President continued. “Chivu has apologised and we apologise too.

“It’s sad because that is the first time something like that has involved Chivu. He’s a great guy and he is finding it hard to explain his actions,” concluded Moratti.
