Marsaxlokk and Vittoriosa share the points

Marsaxlokk and Vittoriosa played to a 2-2 sraw yesterday evening.

Marsaxlokk still need to gain a point in their match against Qormi to secure a place in the Championship Pool while Vittoriosa remain in the bottom side of the table.

Vittoriosa took the lead on the 21st  minute. Leighton Grech setup Jorge Santos who then concluded by beating Marsaxlokk goalkeeper Reuben Gauci to make it 1-0.

The score remained the same throughout the first half.

Marsaxlokk scored the equaliser, five minutes into the second half.

Alfred Effiong scored after Martin Deanov set up the play.

Marsaxlokk were reduced to ten-men after Rumen Galabov received a second yellow card for a foul just outside the area.

Vittoriosa took advantage of the foul to take the lead. From the freekick, Jorge Santos Silva beat the Marsaxlokk goalkeeper.

Even with ten-men, Marsaxlokk pressed for the equaliser and it arrived on the 64th  minute.

Off a freekick from Martin Deanov, Alfred Effiong headed the ball in to make it 2-2.

With the final score 2-2, both teams had to settle for a point each.
