The result gives Hamrun a chance to still challenge for a place in the Championship Pool.

The first half ended goalless with both teams pushing forward only on a few occasions.

Valletta took the lead on the 57^th minute.

Roderick Briffa had his first attempt on goal blocked by goalkeeper Omar Borg.  Briffa quickly picked up the rebound and made no mistake on his second attempt.

Hamrun started to press for the equaliser.

A freekick by Massimo Grima missed the target by the smallest margins.

The equaliser finally arrived for Hamrun on the 77^th minute.

Dyson Falzon was the author of the goal that beat goalkeeper Andrew Hogg.

Valletta could of easily took the lead one minute later after they were awarded a penalty.

Omonigho Temile was brought down in the area by Hamrun’s Steve Bonnici.

Hamrun’s goalkeeper Omar Borg saved Terence Scerri’s shot from the penalty spot.
