Sliema penalty sinks Floriana

Floriana started off the match on the wrong foot after their appeal for a penalty was denied by the referee.

Ivan Woods was brought down in the area by Clifford Gatt Baldacchino to have referee Clayton Pisani wave for play to continue.

With both sides pushing for goal, Floriana were made to pay for a foul inside their area.

On the 90^th  minute, Etienne Barbara was brought down in the area by Brian Said to have the referee point to the penalty spot.

Obinna Obiefule converted the penalty to give Sliema the important winning goal.

In added time Floriana’s Thomas Paris was sent off.

Sliema take home all three points to give them some hope to finish in the top six.
