Hibernians put three past Tarxien

Hibernians remain second from the bottom of the BOV Premier League table as Tarxien Rainbows remain thirteen points behinds leaders Valletta.

The first half ended goalless with great attempts from both teams to try to get the opening goal.

Tarxien’s Cristiano hit the crossbar on the 26^th  minute while Hibernians’ Richie Hart went close a few minutes later.

Hibernians took the lead just four minutes into the second half. Andrew Cohen beat Tarxien goalkeeper with his shot to make 1-0.

Hibernians doubled the score on the 54^th  minute. Ritchie Hart’s effort in front of goal hit the crossbar, Edward Herrera picked up the rebound and to conclude by beating the Tarxien goalkeeper.

Tarxien were reduced to ten men just one minute later after Daniel Mariano Bueno was sent off by referee Andre Arciola.

Tarxien reduced Hibernians lead on the 87^th  minute. Off a freekick by Mark Tanti, Cristiano Dos Santos Rodrigues headed the ball in to make it 2-1.

Hibernians immediately restored their two goal lead thanks to Brian Fairbairn. Off a Andrew Cohen corner, Brian Fairbairn beat David Cassar with a great shot.
