Valletta defeat Floriana in derby

Valletta took the lead on the 35^th  minute when Denni Rocha Dos Santos shot from the edge of the area beat Floriana goalkeeper Lofti Saidi.

In the early stages of the second half, Floriana pressed for the equaliser.

Ivan Woods shot was saved by Andrew Hogg and on the 60^th minute a Christian Caruana header was also saved by Hogg.

Valletta replied with Edmond Agius having his freekick ending just wide on the 75^th  minute. Edmund Agius again had a great shot just outside the area miss the target by a small margin.

Denni Rocha Dos Santos almost doubled the score when he hit the crossbar with his header on the 85^th  minute.

Substitute, Ian Zammit sealed the win for Valletta after receiving the ball from Gilbert Agius from a throw-in. Zammit advanced into the area and beat goalkeeper Lofti Saidi with his shot.
