Hamrun leave it late to defeat Vittoriosa

Hamrun took the lead late in the second half on the 39^th  minute.

Dylan Kokavessis beat Vittoriosa’s goalkeeper Jean Matthias Vella with his shot.

On the 59^th  minute, Leighton Grech set up Edison Luis Dos Santos to score the equaliser for Vittoriosa.

Santos’s header hit the woodwork, but he picked up the rebound and beat the Hamrun goalkeeper.

Vittoriosa took the lead on the 66th  minute. Leighton Grech’s shot left no chance for Omar Borg.

Just ten minutes later, Hamrun  levelled matters. Gaertan Spiteri’s header beat Vittoriosa’s goalkeeper after he received a perfect pass from Peter Anizoba.

On the 80^th  minute, Hamrun’s Dyson Falzon was brought down in the area. The referee pointed to the penalty spot, but Marcelo Pereira shot the ball over the net.

Three minutes later, Gaetan Spiteri scored the winning goal for Hamrun as he headed the ball past the goalkeeper after receiving a precise cross from Dyson Falzon.

Edison Luis Dos Santos was voted BOV Player of the Match.
