Arsenal shock Barcelona as Roma lose

Arsenal shocked Barcelona yesterday evening with a 2-1 victory.

Barcelona were went ahead on the 26th  minute. Lionel Messi served David Villa who then made no mistake to beat Arsenal’s goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Arsenal did not sit back and let Barcelona attack as they piled on the pressure to try to score the equaliser.

On the 78th  minute, Arsenal finally found the equaliser.

Andrei Arshavin served Clinchy who then set up Van Persie who made no mistake in finding the back of the net.

Arsenal pressed for the winning goal and it arrived on the 83rd  minute thanks to Andrei Arshavin.

Arsenal will now have to face Barcelona on their home turf on the return match. Arsenal go into the match with a slight advantage, but anything can happen against the former World Champions.

In the other match Roma were defeated by Shakhtar Donetsk 3-2.

Roma now have a huge task ahead of them if they want to advance to the next round of the Champions League.

Simone Perrotta put Roma ahead on the 28th  minute. But Jadson equalised just a minute later after his shot was deflected off Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

Douglas Costa made it 2-1 on the 36th  minute.

Luiz Adriano put Roma in crisis just five minutes later to make it 3-1 before the end of the first half.

Roma reduced the gap after Jeremy Menez made it 3-2 on the 61st  minute.

Roma desperately pressed for the equaliser, but the solid Shakhtar defence kept them at bay.
