Valletta found no difficulty against Qormi as they defeated the newly promoted side 6-0.
The Maltese champions took control of the game immediately and forged ahead on the 14th minute. Miguel Angel Alba’s cross was met by Bojan Kaljevic who headed the ball past Jamie Azzopardi.
Valletta doubled their advantage on the 57th minute. Matteo Piciollo was brought down inside the penalty area by Azzopardi and the referee ordered a penalty. From the eleven metres mark, Miguel Angel Alba made no mistake.
The Citizens added another goal on the hour mark. Kaljevic squared the ball for Mario Fontanella whose shot gave Azzopardi no chance.
Kaljevic scored his second goal of the game on the 72nd minute. The Montenegrin striker received the ball from Piciollo and placed it inside the net.
Fontanella made the score 5-0 on the 80th minute. Kaljevic sent the twenty-nine year old through on goal down the left side and the latter slotted the ball behind Azzopardi.
Substitute Bogdan Gavrila scored Valletta’s sixth goal two minutes from time. After receiving the ball from Piciollo, the Romanian midfielder hit an angled shot that went inside the net.
