St Andrews scored the opening goal of the match on the 23rd minute. Joseph Farrugia’s delivery from a free-kick was met by Adrian Borg who headed the ball home.

Qormi hit back on the 32nd minute. Following a cross by Michael Camilleri, Alexsandro Ferreira failed to make proper contact with the ball despite being in a good position.

A minute later, Martin Davis of St Andrews drilled a low shot that was blocked by Jamie Azzopardi.

Qormi went close to equalise on the brink of half-time. Ferreira served Yannick Yankam and the latter saw his effort being saved by Matthew Calleja Cremona.

Calleja Cremona denied Qormi again on the 56th minute. Daide Mansi attempted a header goalwards, but his effort was turned behind for a corner by the Maltese goalkeeper.

The Saints sealed the issue on the 85th minute. Azzopardi floored Aidan Friggieri inside the penalty area and the referee pointed towards the spot. From the eleven metres mark, Kevaughn Atkinson made no mistake.
