Balzan broke the deadlock on the 52nd minute. Alfred Effiong drilled a low shot from inside the penalty area that went past Ini Etim Akpan.

 Marko Micovic’s side sealed the issue in the additional time given by the referee prior to full-time. Alex Da Paixao Alves received the ball from Effiong and hit a stunning shot that gave Etim Akpan no chance.

Following this result, Balzan are third together with Hibernians and Valletta. On the other hand, Floriana’s disappointing season continues as they currently occupy seventh place together with Ħamrun Spartans and St Andrews.
