Birkirkara made a good start to the match as they forged ahead after eighth minutes. Marcelinho de Siquiera’s shot was pushed away by Manuel Bartolo. Carlos Chavarria took the rebound and placed the ball inside the net.

The Spartans equalised on the 35th minute. Donneil Alain Moukanza’s cross was met by Caetano Calil who slotted the ball inside the net.

Tedesco’s side scored the winning goal on the 74th minute. Calil fired a thumping shot that gave Kristijan Naumovski no chance.
