Fiorentina to hold Malta winter training camp
Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi said the Serie A giants would be participating in a tournament organised by the Malta Tourism Authority on the 9 January
Serie A giants Fiorentina will be in Malta for a winter training camp between 5 and 11 December, Tourism minister Konrad Mizzi said on Tuesday.
The Florentine club will play in the Visit Malta Tournament, a triangular tournament that will be played on the 9 January and which will see the Fiorentina face off against local clubs Hibernians and Gzira United on 9 January.
Serie A clubs have held winter training camps in Malta over the league's Christmas recess on a number of occassions in the past as this allows them to train in a milder climate than they otherwise would in Italy.
We are pleased to announce the @MTAMalta @VisitMalta Tournament on the 9th of January 2019, which will host @SerieA_TIM football giants @acffiorentina, who will be in #Malta on a training camp starting on the 5th of January 2019.
